As an experienced, mid-career Toronto therapist, I’m honored to have worked thousands of hours in private practice with clients from all walks of life. My clients are artists and creatives, executives, newcomers, new graduates, couples, parents, those who are grieving, those bravely making life transitions, and many others. I also worked for years as a volunteer for a crisis line in Toronto, and at Sheena’s Place. My professional designation is Registered Psychotherapist, with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am a member of two professional associations: the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists (OSP), and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a researcher for community-based research projects in Toronto on topics such as the health and well-being of street youth in downtown Toronto, marginalized seniors, and newcomers. These were team-led projects conducted by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, York University, and Dalhousie University. With academic colleagues and community members, I gathered and analyzed data and co-authored academic articles and book chapters. In addition, my own creative bent found an outlet in the Toronto small press scene where I have published pieces in literary quarterlies.
To become a psychotherapist I trained at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. I bring passion and commitment to my work as a therapist.
